Domestic violence is something that can arise in all different types of relationships. It can happen within married couples, unmarried couples, opposite-sex couples and same-sex couples. Regardless of what type of relationship domestic violence occurs within, domestic violence can be incredibly harmful and impactful on a person.

Recently, a domestic violence case has arisen in Dallas. The case involves two men who are in a same-sex relationship. Their relationship started in April. The relationship then broke down, but it restarted in August.

According to authorities, last Monday, the two men got into an argument. Authorities say that the argument regarded the couple’s living arrangement and where a set of keys was. Authorities allege that, during this argument, one of the men struck the other in the head with a large mirror.

According to the article on dallasvoice.com which reported this story, following the incident, police arrested the man who allegedly did the striking. One wonders what will ultimately happen in this domestic violence case.

Following a same-sex partner domestic violence incident, it can be very important for the victim to take steps to seek protection. There are many protection options that a domestic abuse victim may have available to him or him. What actions a person can/should take can vary based on the situation. Thus, if a person who is in a same-sex relationship has been the victim of domestic violence, he or she may wish to consider speaking to a family law attorney with experience in domestic violence cases.
