Assistant police chief in Arlington accused of domestic abuse

Recently, a police official in Texas has been accused of having committed domestic violence against his wife.

The official in question is a 54-year-old man who holds the position of assistant police chief in Arlington. According to authorities, early Sunday morning, the man attacked his wife using his feet, hands and fist and caused his wife to suffer redness and swelling.

The man was placed under arrest. He has since been released on bail. He is facing a criminal charge in relation to the incident. The charge in question is an assault with bodily injury to a family member charge.

Since the incident, the Arlington police force has put the man on administrative leave.

One action that domestic violence victims sometimes take after having been subjected to an attack is to file for a protective order against their attacker. A protective order generally prohibits the person it is issued against from contacting or getting within a certain distance of the individual protected under the order over the time period specified in the order. If a person violates a protective order that has been issued against them, they can face charges. Experienced family law attorneys can provide domestic violence victims with information on protective orders and can help them with the filing process.

The wife of the Arlington assistant police chief requested an emergency protective order following the above-mentioned incident. The request was approved. The protective order that has been put in place against the assistant police chief is a 61-day order.
