Settlement in Lena Headey divorce contains app requirement

Child custody matters can touch on far more than just which parent a child will live with. The types of issues that can come up in child custody proceedings and negotiations are just as varied as the types of concerns that a parent can have about their child's health and wellbeing. Thankfully, the types of terms custody orders and agreements can contain also are quite diverse. This allows such orders and agreements to address a wide variety of different child custody issues.

Recently, a divorce settlement containing a rather interesting term was reached in the divorce of actress Lena Headey. Our readers may be familiar with Headey's work on the HBO series "Game of Thrones." She plays the role of Queen Cersei on the show.

In 2012, Headey filed a petition for a divorce. Recently, Headey and her ex-husband reached a settlement agreement in relation to their divorce.

Headey and her ex-husband have a 3-year-old son. Purportedly, Headey had concerns regarding how safe the child would be while in the car with her ex-husband. In the past, her ex-husband was in a bad auto accident.

Headey's purported concerns regarding her ex-husband's driving and the safety of their son may have been behind one of the settlement agreement's more unusual terms. In the settlement, both Headey and her ex-husband agreed to use a certain app. The app in question prevents the user from being able to text or use the internet when driving.

Given how big of a concern texting while driving has become in recent years, one wonders if terms regarding this issue will start to become more common in child-custody-related agreements.
