Trace Adkins' wife seeks primary residential custody of the kids

There are many issues that need to be addressed when a couple with minor children gets divorced. One of these issues is what will happen regarding the physical and legal custody of the children. Sometimes, parents share custody of a child after a divorce, while other times, physical and/or legal custody of a child is primarily held by one parent. Many different factors can contribute to what the best custody situation is for a given family. Family law attorneys can help divorcing parents who have questions about things like what sort of child custody arrangement to pursue and what to do if a dispute arises over child custody.

The issue of child custody was touched on in a divorce filing that was recently submitted by the wife of famous country singer Trace Adkins. Adkins and his wife have been married for 16 years and they have three daughters, all of whom are minors. According to the Los Angeles Times, Adkins recently finished up some alcohol-addiction-related rehab.

In her divorce petition, which was filed on Tuesday and which gave "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce, Adkins' wife made a request that she be granted primary residential custody of the children. One wonders if Adkins will make any custody-related requests and what child custody arrangement will ultimately be reached in this divorce.

Adkins' wife also made some financial requests in her divorce filing. She has requested that she be granted alimony and that Adkins have her as the primary beneficiary on his life insurance policy.
