Sometimes, in divorces, a settlement agreement is reached by the two parties to the divorce. Such agreements can deal with a wide variety of issues, including division of property, alimony and child custody/visitation.
Occasionally, disputes arise regarding divorce settlement agreements. For example, sometimes, allegations are leveled that one of the parties to the agreement failed to comply with the terms of the agreement. Such disputes can lead to legal battles.
Recently, such a battle was resolved. The battle involved NASCAR chairman Brian France and Megan France, his ex-wife.
A few years ago, the two got divorced and reached a settlement agreement. Then, a legal dispute came up in relation to this agreement. In this dispute, Brian France and Megan France accused each other of having violated terms of the agreement. Megan France alleged that Brian France failed to make payments that he was supposed to. Brian France, on the other hand, claimed that Megan France failed to comply with multiple terms of the agreement (including terms regarding confidentiality and visitation rights) and that this is why he did not make certain payments.
Recently, Brian France and Megan France settled this dispute. The details of the resolution the two reached have not been publicized.
