Divorce filing submitted by ‘True Blood’ actress

On Behalf of The Shapiro Law Firm | Aug 29, 2013 | Divorce

Sometimes, in a divorce, the issue of spousal support comes up. Spousal support is one of the many important financial issues that can arise in a divorce. These issues can have many complex aspects and can be incredibly impactful.

Recently, some celebrity divorce news has arisen. The news regards actress Rutina Wesley and her husband. Wesley is best known for her work on the television show “True Blood.”

According to an article on People’s website, Wesley recently filed a petition for a divorce. Wesley and her husband have been married for eight years. They have not had any children together.

In her petition, Wesley cited irreconcilable differences as the reason she is seeking a divorce.

According to the above-mentioned People article, Wesley made a spousal support-related request in her divorce filing. Specifically, she is asking that her husband not be granted spousal support. One wonders if her husband will seek spousal support and what will ultimately happen in regards to the issue of spousal support in this celebrity divorce.

Often in divorces, the two divorcing parties will enter into negotiations aimed at settling the issues related to the divorce. The issue of spousal support can be a major one in such negotiations. How financial issues, such as spousal support, are ultimately resolved in a divorce can have major impacts on both of the divorcing parties.

Thus, when a person is in divorce negotiations regarding spousal support and other financial issues, having strong and experienced representation can be of great importance.
