Occasionally, a parent will seek a modification to an existing child custody order or agreement. One thing that a parent will sometimes make a request for a change to a child custody arrangement in connection to are alleged violations of the arrangement’s terms by the other parent.

It appears that such a modification request will soon be made by reality TV star Jon Gosselin. Jon Gosselin and his now ex-wife Kate Gosselin starred in the show “Jon & Kate Plus 8” while they were still together. The former couple has a set of twins and a set of sextuplets.

Recently, Jon has accused Kate of violating terms of a child custody agreement the two of them reached in regards to the sextuplets. According to a representative of Jon, one of the terms of the agreement gives Jon first right to deny when it comes to childcare for the sextuplets when Kate goes out of town without them. Jon alleges that Kate has, during the past year, taken actions which denied him the chance to exercise this right.

Jon claims that Kate’s actions have resulted in him not getting as much time with the sextuplets as he should.

According to the International Business Times, Jon intends to sue for primary custody of the sextuplets in connection to Kate’s alleged violation of the custody agreement. One wonders what will happen with this child custody lawsuit once it is brought.

The stakes can be incredibly high in child custody modification cases. Family law attorneys understand the complexity of custody modification cases and can assist parents who are thinking about bringing a modification request or who have had a modification request brought against them.
